Who I Am and My Approach

In March 2002, I moved to Cardiff to take a temporary contract with a new employer. After only a few months I realised Cardiff was where I wanted to live long term.

In March 2003 I set up my own business, and through the generosity of contacts and new clients, I have developed a business that is sustainable and makes a difference.

My background is in Human Resources and I have led organisations through development and change. I have worked with Boards of Trustees, leaders and managers across organisations, and have performance-managed diverse and complex teams of staff and volunteers. Since moving to Cardiff I have also specialised in individual coaching. A member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, I have a Masters in Employment Relations and Law and am a licensed SIMA coach.

How I work with clients

I love to develop creative and long-term relationships with clients and provide tools and materials that are specific to their needs. Whilst I use a variety of tools, and enjoy the value of writers such as Stephen Covey, Daniel Goleman, John Adair and often use Harvard Business review, my favourite text is a Dr Suess book called ‘Oh! The Places You'll Go!’. Inspiration can be found in the most unusual places and it's important to use tools that work for the client, rather than using formulas, however tried and tested. Being generous with clients, perhaps in the form books and articles, coffee and conversation, as well as with my time makes me happy and fulfilled which I hope also helps my clients feel valued and confident.

Associates

There are a small number of associates I work with, most of whom I have known for many years. Their skills and energy are unquestionable. Should your organisation require me to work with a team, I will introduce you to the people I think can help the most.

Keeping up to Date

My own development is also important to me and I work with a Supervisor on a regular basis. This helps me to develop new ideas and continue to grow professionally. I also believe in practicing what I teach, and ‘taking care of yourself’ is a frequent message to clients. I model this myself by keeping fit and eating healthily – I'm also a “Juicer” – for more information, take a look at www.juicemaster.com

I read and listen, developing ideas from a variety of sources. My favourite text is ‘Oh! The Places You'll Go!’
by Dr Seuss – there are many life lessons in that book.

I love the opportunity to meet and work with a variety of people and welcome inquiries from clients old and new. I'll buy you a coffee and we can explore ways in which I can help you achieve greater potential and satisfaction. I look forward to hearing from you.
